Classification Introduction

GAC, or granular activated charcoal, is an adsorbent that has a high capacity for capturing molecules and contaminants from various materials. GAC is created by heating various sources of organic material (e.g., wood, coal, coconut shell) at high temperatures under controlled conditions. GAC has a very large surface area (between 500 and 1,500 m2/g), which allows for the effective capture and removal of contaminants, odors, and impurities from air and water, as well as many different types of industrial processes. GAC is commonly used in many different applications, including air and water filtration, industrial processing, and environmental remediation. GAC is considered to be one of the most adaptable and durable adsorbents available and is a key component of many environmentally sustainable solutions. In addition to providing compliance with regulatory requirements, GAC helps to optimize the performance of systems. Due to its reliability and efficiency, GAC is an important part of the filtration and treatment processes in today’s filtration and treatment industry.
